Biography
Born in Melbourne, Australia to British non-acting parents, I moved to USA in 2001 with my younger sister Verity (also an actor). I was first noticed by my drama teacher at High school (Georgine Hall - Broadway, Law & Order, Being There, Mrs. Packard-McCarter Theatre Princeton) after playing a variety of animal roles in my elementary years! I became Huckleberry Finn (Complete with southern accent) and then I was hooked on acting. I had to wait for my sister to learn to speak (I was 6) and then there was no stopping us re-enacting TV shows, movies, sitcoms and generally improvising our own shows. I became enamoured of Shakespeare after playing the role of Peter Quince (Midsummer Nights dream) and quickly followed that up with Kingly roles at McCarter Theatre First Stage Group including, King Polydectes (Perseus & the Gorgon), King Claudius (Hamlet) and King Antiochus & leonine (Pericles). I branched out of my zone singing and dancing in High School Musical as Mongo Skater Dude (with American accent). I recently completed a week’s workshop at The Public theatre NYC where I was once again Claudius with the added extra talent of orange juggling! Pretty sure there was no citrus fruit involved in sir Derek Jacobi's version (My hero) I have received advice and encouragement from across the pond from both he and Kenneth Branagh. Sir Derek telling me that if " I have the fire in my belly" to go for it. So here I am- going for it. I played Felix Ungar in The Odd Couple at Performing arts high in March and went for the first time to Manhattan Rep Theatre in NYC to reprise my role in my first adult play...The Univited Guest . I am enjoying every minute of Performing arts , now a senior . Currently studying through summer at ACTeen NYC with Rita Litton and working with fabulous actor- Dan Sakowski on showcase "Blue Blanket" scene from "The Producers" I hope to go to AMDA or AADA to further my studies 2010.
